Edward Spencer, 8th count Spencer
Edward John Spencer (January 24th 1924, London - March 29th 1992, London), 8th Count Spencer, was a British aristocrat , father of Diana, princess of Wales.
Edward Spencer was the son of Albert Spencer, 7 {{E}} count Spencer and of Cynthia Spencer, countess Spencer (born Cynthia Hamilton).
Marriages
He married on June 1st 1954 with the Abbaye of Westminster Frances Burke-Rock, girl of Edmund Burtke-Rock, 4 {{E}} baron Fermoy and of Ruth Burke-Rock, baroness Fermoy (born Ruth Gill). They had five children:- Sarah Spencer (born the March 19th 1955)
- Jane Spencer (born the February 11th 1957)
- John Spencer (still-born child the January 12th 1960)
- Diana Spencer (born on July 1st 1961 and deceased the August 31st 1997)
- Charles Spencer (born the May 20th 1964), today 9th count Spencer
In April 1969, Edward and Frances Spencer divorce because of the adulterous relation which Frances with Peter Shand-Kydd (that she will marry thereafter) maintains. In 1976, Edward Spencer married in second weddings Raine, countess of Dartmouth.
