Edward Smith
Edward John Smith born the January 27th 1850 with Hanley in England, dead the April 15th 1912 was the commander of the Titanic.
Known under the nickname “Pasha of the millionaires”, it was selected to order the Titanic at the time of its inaugural voyage. This voyage (from Southampton to New York) was to be that which would devote it “Pasha of the pashas” before his departure to the retirement. This man, always smiling and benevolent, was very respected, popular and liked by the passengers and members of his crew, it thus seems very natural which it takes seat on board the Titanic with a so important role. He perishes on board this one, the 62 years age, and remains the model of the commander who remains at his station and runs with his ship.
Edward John Smith carried out long and brilliant career (25 years of service) within the White Star Line.
