Eduardo Quisumbing there Arguelles

Eduardo Quisumbing Arguelles is a Filipino Botaniste there, born in 1895 with Santa Cruz (Laguna) and died in 1986.

It receives its baccalaureat of sciences at the university of Philippines de Los Baños in 1918 and its Master off Sciences in 1921. It is at the university of Chicago that it obtains a title of doctor in vegetable taxonomy and morphology.

Of 1920 with 1926, it is attached to the school of agronomy of the university of Philippines and 1926 with 1928 to the University of California. In 1928, he is botanist systematician and as from February 1934, head of the division of Natural history of the scientific office of Manila then directing of the national Natural history museum. He works for U.S. Navy with Guiuau, in the extreme south of Samar where he collects specimens of plants. He withdraws in November 1961 while continuing to work at the Araneta university. Quisumbing undertakes then the restoration of the Herbier completely devastated during the war.

Quisumbing makes appear articles on the Taxinomie and the morphology, mainly of the Orchidée S and is in particular the Filipino author of Medicinal seedlings in the (Manila, 1951). It receives various distinctions for the quality of its scientific work.
