Eduardo Lonardi
Eduardo Lonardi (born with Buenos Aires, the September 15th 1896 - died with Buenos Aires, the March 22nd 1956) is a soldier putschist and Argentinian politician , which held the presidency of the country between the September 23rd 1955 and the November 13rd 1955.
It took part in the coup d'etat of 1943 and in the coup attempt against Juan Domingo Perón of 1951, following what, it was put at the retirement. It was defined as a catholic nationalist.
After the coup d'etat of 1955 it occupied the presidency of the Republic since the protagonists of what one called the Révolution Liberator needed to introduce a man of prestige which would unify the armed forces. Lonardi tried to arrive at the " reconciliation nationale" but was forced to resign under the pressure of the hardest sectors of the army and the marine.
It formed a " Junta Consultiva" with the party Unión Cívica Radical and other counter-cells to the peronism.
He died of a cancer shortly after to have yielded his load to Pedro Eugenio Aramburu. He is buried with the cemetery of Recoleta in Buenos Aires.
