Edouard Spach
Edouard Spach is a Botaniste French, born the November 23rd 1801 with Strasbourg and dead the May 18th 1879 with Paris.
Wire of a merchant of Strasbourg, it comes to Paris in 1824 where it attends the courses of the botanists Rene Desfontaines (1750-1831) and Antoine-Laurent de Jussieu (1748-1836). He becomes the secretary of Charles-François Brisseau de Mirbel (1776-1854). When of Mirbel becomes professor with the national Muséum of natural history, it follows it and will pass all its life there. It makes appear many monographs of which:
- Natural history of the plants. Phanérogames (fourteen volumes and an atlas, Roret, Paris, 1834 with 1848).
- With the count Hippolyte Jaubert (1798-1874) Illustrationes plantarum orientalium (five volumes, Roret, Paris, 1842 with 1857).
