Edouard Ramonet
Edouard Ramonet , is a French politician. Born with Cerberus (the Eastern Pyrenees) the September 14th 1909, it is deceased the December 4th 1980 with Paris.
Biography
Edouard Ramonet was professor d' Université and director of the French Institute of Oporto. He led an active campaign to the Portugal for the rallying in “free France”.
Deputy radical socialist of the Indre of 1945 with 1958, he was president of the Commission of the Economic affairs of the National Assembly of 1951 with 1957, then Minister Commercial and Industry in 1958. Candidate with legislative of 1958 in the first district of the Indre under the label of the republican Center, Edouard Ramonet will be beaten by the Socialist Louis Deschizeaux.
Edouard Ramonet belonged to the right wing of the Parti radical socialist and at the time of the scission of this party, it rejoined the tendency directed by Henri Queuille and André Morice and joined the republican Center. Ramonet will be the vice-president of the Parti radical socialist before occupying the same function within the republican Center as from September 1958.
He was mayor of Chateauroux of 1947 with 1959. Candidate for his own succession in 1959, it will be, as with legislative of 1958, beaten again by Louis Deschizeaux.
Edouard Ramonet will present last once to the legislative elections of 1967 in the first district of the the Eastern Pyrenees, department which had seen it being born fifty eight years earlier. Being presented in the form of a Candidate of broad republican union , it will be eliminated as of the first turn of the poll.
