Edouard IV of England

Edouard IV of England (April 28th 1442 - April 9th 1483), was King d' Angleterre of 1461 with 1483.

He was the oldest son of Richard Plantagenet, Count de Rutland, March, Ulster and Cambridge, Duc of York († 1460) and of Cécile Neville († 1495).

With died his/her father in 1460, it inherits all its titles (except that of count of Rutland).

Edouard is born with Rouen and becomes king the March 4th 1461, at eighteen years. He is an excellent soldier, and good administrator, amateur of the fair sex. Its marriage with Elisabeth Woodville (1437 - 1492), following of the house of Lancaster, is regarded as a disaster for the kingdom and is at the origin of a deep dissension with his/her friend, Richard Neville, count de Warwick, which however helped it to arrive at the throne.

It signs in 1475 the Traité of Picquigny with the king of France Louis XI which puts officially fine at the Guerre One hundred Year old.

The unexpected death of king Edouard, after a few years of peace in England, is at the origin of a resumption of the Guerre of the Two-Pinks. His/her son, Edouard V is quickly deposited by his uncle Richard III, brother of Edouard IV, who calls upon against this one an alleged bigamy.
