Edouard Delvaux

Edouard Delvaux , is a Belgian painter landscape designer , born with Brussels in 1806 and deceased with Spa in 1862. He was the grandson of the large sculptor Laurent Delvaux.

He made his training near the painter Henri Van Assche.

Its extremely sought work, consists mainly of peaceful brought back landscapes bucolic of its many voyages in France, in Suisse, Germany and Italy. One often sees there a river surrounded by wood and meadows where feed of quiet herds accompanied by their pastors.

It is an good example of the Belgian Romanticism.

In 1836, during the exposure of Brussels it obtained the money medal.

He was principal of drawing of Spa, where he died.
