Edouard Brochu

Edouard Brochu is a Agronome and Microbiologiste Québécois born with Saint-Isidore-with-Dorchester in November 1910 and it is deceased on July 26th, 2007 with 18:00 with St-Eustace.

He has been for more than 60 years, an influential actor of the agroalimentary sector to the Quebec. He was a large servant in the field of agronomic sciences, more precisely of the dairy bacteriology which was its vocation as of its studies then the beginning of its teaching with the agricultural Institute of Oka. He worked then under the direction of Dr. Rosell who made his associate quickly of it. Together, they founded the Rosell Institute, whose most remarkable task, but not only, was to introduce and make known yoghourt in Canada and the United States. Today, the Rosell Institute is a leader in the development of probiotic and, thanks to the support of the companies Rougier then Lallemand, it radiates everywhere in the world. After of having assumed the presidency a long time, it was, until its death, the scientific adviser.

In addition to its community activities, it cumulated important responsibilities in its community for election, Saint-Eustace. Founding member of the popular Case, he became the president about it, then the life president. He was also member then president of the club Richelieu, founding member of the Company of Chénier management, and he assumed all these tasks with this discrete dynamism, effective, which was its manner of being.
