Edmond Herve

Edmond Herve , born the December 3rd 1942 with the Pulp (Coast-with Armor), is a Politician French.

He is member of the Socialist party.

Former minister for Health, he is the current mayor of Rennes since 1977 and succeeds Henri Fréville.

Biography

Wire of peasants Sharecropper S, he is bachelor of law public of the University of Rennes. He is also titular of a diploma of higher learning of public law and another of political sciences. He becomes teaching of administrative law and the constitutional law in 1969. Father of three children, a twin girl and two boys.

Mayor of Rennes

It rises in policy by the militant way. He becomes mayor of Rennes in 1977. Two years later it gives up its trade of teacher to devote itself exclusively to its mandate.

President of the District of Rennes, become thereafter the community of agglomeration Rennes Metropolis, it starts an innovative urban policy which it continued with enthusiasm: social diversity, support for the culture, ecology, pedestrian plate, development of public transport (VALLEY, subway of Rennes automated).

In almost thirty years, Rennes took a new face, modern and gravitational, which must much with its urban policy. Rennes is regularly classified by the magazines ( the Express train , the Point , Nouvel Observateur ) like one of the most pleasant cities (but also most expensive) of France.

He announces officially on January 20th, 2007, that he will not aspire to a sixth mandate with the municipal of 2008.

The outgoing mayor of Saint-Jacques-of-the-Moor, Daniel Delaveau, was appointed on March 7th, 2007 by the PS to carry out the socialist list at the time of these elections.
