Edme Mongin

Edme Mongin (1668 with Baroville - May 6th 1746 with Paris) is a French bishop and speaker.

Tutor of the duke of Bourbon and the count de Charolais, it is named bishop of Bazas in 1724. He pronounces the funeral oration of Louis XIV in 1715 and the panegyric of saint Vincent of Paul in 1737 at the time of his canonization. Its parts oratories were joined together in 1745 under the title Ĺ’uvres of lord Edme Mongin, bishop and lord of Bazas, one of the forty of the Francoise Academy, containing her sermons, panegyrics, funeral orations, academic mandements and parts .
