Edith Mathis

Edith Mathis (born the February 11th 1936 - in 1938 according to other sources - with Lucerne) is a Soprano Suisse.

With her pleasant physique and her semi-sparkling voice, Edith Mathis was a light soprano much in demand ( Chérubin in the Marriages of Figaro, Marcelline in Fidelio, Annette in Freischütz, Sophie in the Knight with the pink). But it was also an excellent interpreter of the Cantate S of Bach, which it recorded in particular with Karl Richter.

Today, Edith Mathis teaches the Lied and the song of Oratorio to Vienna and exempts occasional courses in the whole world.
