Edith Butler

Edith Butler , born Marie Nicole Butler the July 27th 1942 with Paquetville, in the acadian Peninsula, County of Gloucester, New Brunswick is a French-speaking Canadian singer.

She was known for her success " Paquetville" , in homage to its birthplace. Its career started in the Années 1960 with Moncton, then continued then thanks to many services on the national chain CBC in the Singalong Jubilee . It launches several popular and traditional albums between 1973 and 1985, and turns to the albums of " partys" endiablés ( the party of Edith in three volumes) which obtains a good success between 1986 and 1989. It returns to more committed songs starting from 1990 ( " Funny of hiver" …). The singer lives from now on with the Quebec.

One retains among his most important titles " Grain of mil" , " Let unroll the soleil" to me; , " I love you, my life recommence" , " It is beautiful the amour" , " It is a song of amour" , " To sail on stars of mer" , " I was girl of the wind and Acadie" , " Skirmish with Restigouche" , " Anthem with the espoir" and " A million times I you aime" .

It makes also theater while taking part in the part of Antonine Maillet " The tintamarre" at the sides of Raped Leger and of his delicious character of " Sagouine". In 2003, after seven years of absence on disc, it records " Mrs Butlerfly" .

She is officer of the Ordre of Canada since 1975.
