Edict of Clowns
the Edict of Clowns is the name given to the second of the four assemblies (Concile S) brought together at the time of Charles the Bald person with Pîtres between 861 and 869. This second assembly took place in 864. During this council, it was decided:
- that Pip the Young person, king d' Aquitaine would be deposed of its States.
- that there would be a recasting of the Monnaie S.
- that there would be severe sorrows against the false coiners.
- that there would be a census of the free men obliged to serve the Ost.
- This edict, taking again the resolutions taken with the preceding council held already in Pîtres in 862, encourages the construction of Forteresse S in order to face the increasingly frequent invasion S of the Viking S
- This edict brings large amméliorations on the fate of the Esclaves and the Colons.
