- January 1st: Died of Louis XII, King de France and beginning, at 23 years of the reign of François I {{er}} (fine in 1547). The Angoumois and the Touraine pass to the royal field.
- January 25th: Crown François I {{er}} with Rheims.
- February 23rd: The Parlement of Paris hands down a judgment recognizing the Droit of the ground to any newborn in France of foreign parents.
- March 4th: The France is combined with Venice to recover the Milanese and the release of Vérone promises to him then held by the Imperial ones.
- March 24th: Treaty of Paris: The count of Flanders, future Charles Quint, which seeks to inherit the Spain, is combined with François I {{er}} in order to obtain his support. He is projected a marriage between Charles and the young person Renee de France (4 years then) girl of Louis XII and Anne of Brittany.
- In June, François Ier makes sign with his wife Claude of France an act by which it gives up the Brittany to him. Later, she grants so that the province is allotted to elder its wire, contrary upon the engagements of 1499.

- September 8th: François Ier concluded an agreement with the Swiss ones, with Gallarate by which it is committed pouring a million ecu of gold. But the bishop of Sion succeeds in convincing the Swiss ones to walk against the French Army (September 13rd).
- September 14th: Victoire of François Ier (partly thanks to the assistance of Venice) to Marignan against the mercenaries Swiss S of the Italian States, and taken Milan. The perpetual neutrality of Swiss goes back to this time. The Milanese is opened and François Ier profits from an alliance with the Swiss ones (engagement of mercenaries). The battle made 30 000 victims.

1515 is the historical date most known of the French, because of victory of François I {{er}} with Marignan. The knowledge of association Marignan and Quinze-cent fifteen probably comes from the old training of the History which was based primarily on the training of the chronology of the events, which is today called the event-driven history .
