Edgard Frankignoul

Edgard Frankignoul was born with Liege the September 24th 1882 and is deceased the September 7th 1954. He was a Belgian industrialist .

He developed a process (which bears its name) of soil mechanics compression; an improvement of the system of the piles of foundation then in force (Pious Compressol). It deposits the patent in May 1909 and, in 1910, forms the first Company of the Pieux Franki. She is a considerable success all over the world (Europe, Asia, America, North Africa), one owes him in particular the Rosetta stopping on the the Nile and the tunnel under the the Scheldt (Antwerp).

It was also pointed out within the Walloon Mouvement to which it lent of the personnel and the buildings. Opposed to centralization of Brussels, it militated for a formula Fédéraliste. Member of the Walloon National congress, it took part in the Walloon congress of 1945.

A boulevard of Liege always bears its name today.
