Edgar Albert Smith is a zoologist and a British Illustrateur , born the November 29th 1847 with London and dead the July 22nd 1916.
He is conservative-assistant with the British Museum starting from 1867. He is in particular the author of:
- With Francis Jeffrey Beautiful (1855-1924) and Randolph Kirkpatrick (1863-1950), foreword of Sir Edwin Ray Lankester (1847-1929), has Guide to the Shell and Starfish Galleries (London, 1901), the work is republished with many recoveries.
Smith studies the molluscs brought back by various forwardings like those of H.M.S. Challenger (1873 with 1876), of H.M.S. Alert (1884), Terra Nova in the Antarctic (1910), etc
