Eddy Merckx

The baron Edouard Louis Joseph (Eddy) Merckx , born the June 17th 1945 with Meensel-Kiezegem, small commune of the the Flemish Brabant in the east of Leuwen, is a Belgian cyclist .

Biography

Eddy Merckx begins its career of racing cyclist the July 16th 1961 with Laeken in the category initial. It gains its first large title, that of world champion amateur, three years later. The following year, on May 1st, 1965, it passes professional. Since this date, it connects the victories and ends up having the greatest prize list of the history of cycling.
