Eddie Shack

Eddie The Entertainer Shack (born the February 11th 1937 with Sudbury, Ontario) is a player of professional Hockey with the retirement.

Career

Eddie Shack begins its career in the Association of hockey of Ontario - today Ontario Hockey League for the Biltmores de Guelph at the 15 years age. He will play during five seasons with Biltlmores and will carry out his best season in 1956-57 when he takes along his team to the Coupe Memorial as better a frontier runner of association.

In 1957, it signs with the Rangers of New York and plays half of the season with the team holds frankness from the LNH: the Reds de Providence of the American League of hockey. It makes its beginnings in the LNH in 1958-59 and knows two unspecified seasons.

In November 1961, it joined the Maple Leafs of Toronto and its third line. It occupies the left wing during five seasons and becomes one of preferred of the public even if it does not mark much. At the time of the season 1965-66, it plays on the same line that Ron Ellis and Bob Pulford and registers 26 goals. This season there, the fans start to sing Clear The Track, Young stag Comes Shack (Release the passage, here is Shack).

During the autumn 1968, it joined the Bruins of Boston and plays sides of Derek Sanderson and Wayne Cashman.

The season according to it is wounded and it spends four seasons between the Kings of Los Angeles, the Sabers of Buffalo and the Penguins de Pittsburgh. Finally, the latter resell it in Toronto for the season 1973-74 but it does not have any more the talent of before and takes its retirement in 1975.

  • It gained the Coupe Stanley into 1962,1963,1964 and 1967. In 1963, it registers the victorious goal of the Cut.
  • It played in the 16 {{E}}, the 17 {{E}} and in the 18 {{E}} Match of the Stars of the LNH. At the time of the 16th match, in 1962, he is elected MVP match. It is the first time that a MVP is indicated.
  • Seulement the second player of the LNH has to at least mark 20 goals for five different franknesses.
  • During its career, of the rumors affirmed that it was illiterate and it recently revealed that was true during a good part of its career. At the time of a match between Maple Leafs and the Red Wings de Détroit, it marks a goal and goes towards the trainer of Red Wings, Jack Adams, which had declared a few days earlier than it could not even spell the words and Shack then declared to him: Hey Jack! G-O-A-L (Hey Jack! GOAL).
