The recording contained Boogaloo (or Latin Drunk person), style which amalgamates Rythm' blues/Soul with the Latin music who was with the mode at the time.
Later Eddie Palmieri considered that the boogaloo had marked a decline in the creativity of the Latin music, caused by the insulation of Cuba of the United States.

The disc was a failure, with the great regret of Eddie Palmieri.
Verdad gained a fifth Grammy with Tony Vega as principal singer.
Eddie emigrated in Puerto Rico in 1983, but the lack of regular work because of the rejection by much of producers and musicians, caused his return to New York with a feeling of frustration. It made in 1986 its only appearance in the United Kingdom.
Palmieri signed with another major, Capitol Records, with " Sueño" in 1989, containing four remakes its preceding titles, with the appearance of the saxophonist viola of Jazz fusion David Sanborn.
