Eddie Constantine is an American actor born the October 29th 1917 with Los Angeles, California (the United States), deceased the February 25th 1993 with Wiesbaden (Germany).

Biography

American singer, Eddie Constantine expatria in France after the failure of an attempt at Hollywood career. It became a high-speed motorboat in France by interpreting the role of the secret agent Lemmy Caution in the Kid verdigris, adapted of a Black series of Peter Cheyney, role which it included in a series of films. Constantine became a high-speed motorboat of the French boxoffice of the Fifties, its gouaille and its American accent being extremely appreciated of the public in several countries of Europe. It also recorded several songs with success. The films of Eddie Constantine were generally series B of action to the often light and humorous tone. Not taking its career of actor to serious, Eddie Constantine concentrated more and more with the years on its racing stable. Its success in the French cinema declining, it settled in Germany, where it continued to appear in films. During its second part of career, Eddie Constantine was frequently employed by European directors of avant-garde, like Jean-Luc Godard, Rainer Werner Fassbinder or Lars von Trier.
