Ecuvillens
Ecuvillens is a village of the commune of Hauterive, in the Canton of Freiburg in Suisse. The common one counts 1870 inhabitants.
In Ecuvillens there are a church, two restaurants and an aerodrome.
History
The name of Ecuvillens, whose old forms were Escuvillens and Scuvillens, indicates the descendants of Scubiculus, Roman legionary having received this ground as premium. In 1138, a family lived in a castle located at the edge of the Glâne but it remained without descent and gave up the castle.
