Clothing and shoe

The Choletais and the Mauges, with 400 SME, are the first European center of clothing intended for the children, and an important pole of the mode with companies such as Eram, Catimini, NewMan

Agriculture

Approximately 30.000 employees and 11.000 exploitations produce breeding (53%) and various cultures (47%).

The Maine-et-Loire is the first French producer of mushrooms, blackcurrant and plants out of pot, and is recognized at the European level thanks to the Viticulture and its pole of the Plant.

Horticulture

The Anjou is the first horticultural area of France, this activity was created with second half of the 18th century.

The general advice takes part in the development of the department like European vegetable pole. The creation of Floriloire assistance with the reinforcement of the logistic and commercial organization of the local horticultural companies. The Community Office of the Plant varieties (OCVV), in the past based with Brussels, was installed on Angers.

The department wishes to create an international window of the horticulture angevine with the project of the Parc of the Plant.

Vine growing

With 20.000 hectares cultivated, 27 names AOC and a million hectolitres/an, the vine growing is a major asset of the department. The most recognized being the Slope-of-Tailboard and the sparkling wine of Saumur.
