Economy of Picardy
The economy of Picardy is very related to its geographical location, source of its weaknesses and its potentialities.
Halfway between the Paris region and the agglomeration inhabitant of Lille, Picardy hesitates between its natural position of crossroads of the exchanges and that, more advantageous, of center of attraction of the major activities.
Often regarded as a primarily agricultural area, the Picardy developed since strong a long time a powerful manufacturing industry: Textile S, Glass, metals, chemistry, plasturgie, car, aeronautics, etc
It lodges poles of searchs and higher education for quality. It has offered for a few years a network of transportation routes which are definitely densified to do of it with the passing of years one of the zones of Europe best served.
Last area classified in 2007, it must now change its weaknesses into forces to become an area of weight in the triangle Paris - London - Brussels.
