Economy of Montenegro
The economy of Montenegro is not very developed. It rested to 77% on the exchanges with the Serbia.
Slowed down by a very broken relief, the installation of infrastructures took a considerable delay with the wars which succeeded the bursting of the Yugoslavia.
The economy however has assets, in particular side of tourism on the coast (mouths of Kotor, ports typical, sunny beaches most of the year, climate close to the Greek islands ).
The Agriculture, still traditional, will be able to develop if the terrestrial communications improve (breeding of bovines, porcine and poultries). Industry concentrates in the big cities towards consumer goods (bazaar, textile, small food…). The underground economy is considerable, and it made it possible at a good part of the population to support the recent difficulties, offers a not very gravitational image for international investors.
