Economy of Jordan
The Jordan is a small country whose Natural resources and in particular hydraulics are not exploitable. The general debt, poverty and unemployment are recurring problems. The king Abdallah, with the head of the country since 1999, undertook economic reforms on the long run in order to regulate the most important problems and to improve the living conditions. Jordan worked of 2003 with 2006 in close cooperation with the the IMF, practiced a Monetary policy strict associated with an important program of Privatization. The government also liberalized the commercial mode sufficiently to make safe the possible participations in the World Trade organization (2000), a trade agreement with the E. - U. (2001), and a cooperation agreement with the European Union (2001). These measurements increased the productivity and implied overseas investments. The Jordan imported the majority of its oil of Iraq, but the war of Iraq of 2003 made it depend on the other producing oil nations, forcing the Iraqi government to raise the oil price with the detail and the taxes. The market of export of the Jordan, which depends heavily on exports towards the Iraq, was also affected by the war but was rebuilt quickly while contributing to the Iraqi rebuilding. The largest challenges to which the Iraq had to face were to do without financial aids, to reduce the Budget deficit, and to create assistances with the investment to start again the dynamics of the Emploi.
