Marie-Josée Roig , political Femme French, born the May 12th 1938 with Perpignan (the Eastern Pyrenees) is the current mayor of Avignon.
She is elected Députée the June 16th 2002, for XIIe legislature (2002 - 2007), in the 1 {{Re}} district of Vaucluse. She was re-elected appointed by 56,71% of the votes to the 2 turn on June 17th, 2007. She belongs to the group UMP.
She is Ministre for the Family and the Childhood of March 2004 in November 2004. November 29th, 2004, following the rehandling of the government after the election of Nicolas Sarkozy with the presidency of the UMP, it is named minister delegated inside, near Dominique de Villepin, to replace Jean-François Cope. It leaves the Government on May 31st, 2005, at the time of the resignation of the Government making following the result of the referendum relating to the European constitutional treaty.
The January 19th 2007, it is decorated by the President with the Republic, Jacques Chirac, of the medal of officer of the Légion of honor.
July 3rd, 2007, it is the only UMP deputy not to grant its confidence to the government of Francois Fillon, following an error of vote.
