The Ece is a ship Chimiquier builds in 1988. It sailed under house of the Marshall Islands. It was 126 meters long and 8.003 tons.
It entered in collision the January 31st 2006 towards 03:00 of the morning with a Vraquier, the General Grot Rowecki , under house Maltese, which gave alarm at once.
The collision occurred to approximately 50 nautical miles of Cherbourg, with the entry of the Separation device of the traffic of the Casquets.
The crew could be evacuated, and the General Grot Rowecki was authorized to carry on its road.
Taken in trailer by the Bee Freedom with 15:30, it ended up sinking with 03:37 of the morning with the 10.000 tons of Acid phosphoric of its cargo and 90 tons of Fioul. It rests by 70 meters basic close to the place of the collision ().
In the middle of the morning of the February 1st, two films of Pollution were observed on the surface, without their origin being known.
Taking away near the wreck showed phosphate rates 5 times superiors with the normal. The Armateur was put in residence to organize the treatment of the wreck.
