Ecclesiology

The ecclesiology (étymologiquement “study of the Church”) is a branch of the Christian Théologie which studies the role and the evolution of the Church as an institution. It maintains the close connections with the pastoral Théologie, which treats the faithful ones, and the canonical Droit.

The great study periods ecclesiologic were:

  • the the Middle Ages, during long confrontation enters the Empereur and the Pape;
  • at the 16th century, the Reform, which leads to the creation of the Protestant Églises and the catholic Réforme, which culminates in the Concile of Thirty;
  • the 19th century for the Protestantism, with the school of Tübingen: spiritual dimension and Charismatique of the Église take the step on its terrestrial capacity;
  • the Concile Vatican II for the Catholicism, which calls into question monarchical ecclesiology until there dominant.
