Eberhard Wächter is a painter German born with Stuttgart the February 29th 1762, deceased in the same city the August 14th 1862. He was pupil in Paris of Jean-Baptiste Regnault, of David, then of Gros. In the workshop of David, it found his compatriot the painter Gottlieb Schick. It went to Italy where in Rome it will convert with Catholicism and its painting reflects its religious feelings then: the Jesus Child and the Lamb , Job and his/her friends . In 1798, it had to flee in front of the French revolutionary army and went to Vienna not having been able to find employment in its birthplace because of its conversion. It founded a Guilde of Saint-Luc, who was a crucible for art nazaréen.
