EasyJet
easyJet (Code IATA: U2 ; Code ICAO: EZY ) is a Airline company with low costs.
Its official name is easyJet Airline Company PLC . It belongs partly to Stelios Hadji-Ioannou through its participation in the EasyGroup, a company registered in the Tax shelter of Jersey. It is a company of 3.500 employees which was created the October 20th 1995, thanks to a loan of 5 million books of the father of Stelios Hajo-Ioannou, a Cypriot ship-owner .
The head office is located at the Aéroport of London Luton, in a sharp orange prefabricated building. The majority of the roads are either interior (British) or between the the United Kingdom and other European airports. It decided to modernize its fleet by replacing gradually its Boeing 737-300 and -700 by 240 Airbus A319 ordered and quickly became the fourth European company after Air France - KLM, Lufthansa and Ryanair.
The company easyJet repurchased in 1998 40% of Swiss company TEA Basel, based with Geneva. This company becomes its subsidiary company and takes the name of EasyJet Switzerland. It was at the time in competition with Swissair before the latter does not go bankrupt.
It bought in 2002 its competitor on the low segment costs, Go Fly (subsidiary of British Airways). They announced to have sold for the year 2002 1 498 802 places. The main competitors of easyJet in Europe are Ryanair, Air Berlin, German Wings, Hapag-Lloyd Express and Transavia.
