A Earthwork , literally earthwork , is an English term used to indicate a work of art created in the nature and whose basic material is the ground.
Whereas Land Art indicates the whole of the artistic current which uses nature as material, Earthworks applies especially for works of the American artists who used the deserted south-west for launching projects using of large technical means and leaving a final trace in the landscape.
They are exposures to New York, in the middle of the years 1960, which devoted the term.
