Earl Scruggs

Earl Eugene Scruggs (born on January 6th 1924) is a musician known to have introduced a new handset of banjo (called the Scruggs style ) characteristic of the music Bluegrass.

Scruggs was born in Shelby, in North Carolina. It joined Bill Monroe and its Blue Grass Servant boys in 1945 where its syncopated style, based on the picking with three fingers, fact feeling. In 1948, it leaves the group of Bill Monroe with Lester Flatt to found the group of the Foggy Mountain servant boys. They gained a grammy award for their title The Foggy Mountain Breakdown . In 1969, Flatt and Scruggs separate, and this last again creates a group, The Earl Scruggs Revue, with many its sons.

Scruggs was introduced into the Country Music Hall off Famed in 1985 and into the International Bluegrass Music Hall off Honor in 1991. February 13rd, 2003, it accepted a star with the Hollywood Walk off Famed.
