ERC-90 Sagaie
The Engin of Recognition at Canon of 90 mm Sagaie (ERC 90) is a light French tank of 6 driving wheels. Conceived by Panhard, on its equities, while benefitting from the work completed for a contest launched, in 1970, by the French Army for the design with a vehicle of before armoured tank, but gained by Renault.
The first ERC leaves in 1977. Orders placed by the Argentine, the France, the Iraq, the Coast-D' Ivory, the Niger, and the Mexico. The first come from Iraq which wants to adapt its turrets UTM-800 to it. Panhard then chooses to mount there a more modern turret equipped with a gun of 90 mm F4. This vehicle is one 6 * 6 amphibians of which the two intermediate gears can be raised. It is transportable by air by Transall C 160 and Hercules C 130. It can be used in atmosphere contaminated thanks to a system of pressurization and filtration of the air (NBC).
