EADS Astrium Space Transportation
EADS Astrium Space Transportation (in the past EADS SPACE Transportation ) is a subsidiary company of Astrium, in charge of the construction of many European space programs.
Presentation
EADS SPACE Transportation was created the June 13rd 2003, of the fusion of EADS Launch Vehicles and Astrium Space Infrastructure.
It counts nearly 4.000 employees. Its centers of designs and assemblies are distributed on six sites in France and Germany.
Sites:
- France: Mureaux, Saint-Medard-in-Jalles, Kourou.
- Germany: Bremen, Ottobrunn, Friedrichshafen, Lampoldshausen.
In 2006, the company became EADS Astrium Space Transportation.
Programs
Astrum Space Transportation is responsible for many European space programs like:
- ARIANE, Soyuz
- Columbus
- ATV
It is also it which is in charge of the construction of the missiles of the program of nuclear weapons French (MSBS,…).
