E.P.O.D.E.
E.P.O.D.E. means Together “, Prévenons the Obesity Of the Children” . It is a question of a prevention program in order to fight against the excessive catch of weight of the children from 5 to 12 years. This action is effective in 10 test cities distributed on 10 areas in France.
Program
The cities concerned are: Asnières-sur-Seine, Beauvais, Béziers, Evreux, Meyzieu, Roubaix, Royan, Midsummer's Day, Glazed, Thiers.
This one 5 years duration experiment makes it possible to set up a policy of education for the children but also for the parents food gastronomy. The municipality thus takes part in demonstrations in the school canteens or in the classrooms to wake up the awakening of the direction of the taste and a better knowledge of the nutrition and food diversity. Actions of proximity are carried out for and with the population, in the commune. The “active” plays and the discovery of physical-activities not raising necessarily of a sporting practice are also promoted.
