E.ON AG

E.ON AG is a great German energy group. It belongs to the index DAX of the purse of Frankfurt and its seat is with Düsseldorf. The group is also a major European actor in the field of the equipment to the communities, in company of group like Suez and Veolia Environnement.

Thanks to the opening and the expansion of the European Union (A), E.ON managed to be established in the strategic sector of electricity in the countries of Eastern Europe, such as for example in Hungary via Edasz held to 29,2%, Poland, in Romania with Northern Distrigaz had with 51%, and Bulgaria. It is also present in Russia in the sector of the Natural gas with 6,5% of Gazprom Neft, with the the United States, more precisely in the Midwest with its subsidiary company with 100% Louisville Gas and Electric, with the the United Kingdom thanks to its 100% in Powergen, in Spain with 5% in Union Fenosa, like in Scandinavia with its local subsidiary company with 60% SydKraft.

E.ON was born from the fusion of the German groups VEBA AG and VIAG in 2000. In 2005 the chairman of the group is the Dr. Wulf H. Bernotat. The company weighs nearly 50 billion euros out of purse in August 2005.

the offensive on Endesa : February 21st, 2006, E.ON launches a tender offer on Endesa, energy group Spanish already coveted by its compatriot Gas Natural (tender offer of September 2005). The German offer exceeds of 30% that of Gas Natural and would have made E.ON, if the operation had succeeded, the first group of electricity and gas in the world, with nearly 50 million customers in more than 30 countries. But in 2007 Spanish called Italian ENEL with the assistance and it is ENEL which took again Endesa, E.ON being withdrawn prematurely.
