Dysmenorrhoea
see also: Etymology of Dysmenorrhoea
The dysmenorrhoea (of the Greek dys: difficulty, méno: rules, rrhée: flow) étymologiquement indicates the difficulty of the flow of the rules. One however employs this term to indicate the painful rules ( algoménorrhée ). These pains precede or accompany the rules. They can be also accompanied by diarrheas, vomiting, giddinesses and headaches. There are several types of painful rules: those which occur at the time of the first rules, those which occur after several years of rules without pain; pains without organic cause, and those which have such causes.
The organic causes can be:
- polyp, fibrome uterine
- Endométriose
- chronic genital infections
