A dyke (or dike) is a magmatic blade of Roche which infiltrated in a crack of boxing. So a dyke recuts the other layers of rock (difference with the Sill).
The thickness of a dyke can vary few centimetres with a few tens of meters while its horizontal extension can reach several kilometers.
With the erosion, a dyke can be found isolated from boxing sound and form a wall.
