Dyeing

A dyeing is a Colorant absorptive by the support and which mixes with its initial color, instead of covering it like a Pigment. For example a fabric Bleu plunged in a Bain of dyeing Jaune will become Vert, by combination of blue and the yellow.

The principle of the dyeing requires a coloring product, a fixer and water.

The dyeings are used in Cosmétique for the Cheveux, in Ameublement to tint the Bois or the Textile S, in Maroquinerie for the Cuir, in Peinture, etc

In Phytotherapy, one speaks about dyeing mother when the active components of plants are extracted with an alcohol.

History

The Indigo, a dyeing Bleu E extracted the indigotier is one of oldest known dyeings the, of the traces were found by it on woven Vêtement S of the ancient Egypt.

Types of dyeings

Dyeing and textile

It can intervene at different time of manufacture from the Vêtement: on the wire (before or after the spinning mill, one speaks about woven tints ), on the fabric woven (one speaks about dyed in part ) or on finished clothing (practiced especially since the Années 1980).

There exist three methods of dyeing in the Textile:

  • the direct dyeing, the fabric is directly plunged in the bath of dyeing, this method is considered to be not very reliable because it supports discharging.
  • the direct dyeing by chromate finishing, the fiber is prepared with the action of the dyeing by a product, the corrosive ;
  • the indirect dyeing, the fabric is impregnated various products which cause the appearance or the fixing of a color by chemical reaction.
