History

In 1991, the Dutch Five Triathlon is the longest triathlon ever disputed; it exceeds the world Défi of the endurance (triple ironman) created in 1988 and the quatruple ironman disputed in $the Hague the same year. The first edition suffers from engineering problems because of the unusual duration of the event with time limits 110 hours (4 days 14 hours) to carry out the course: the course with bicycle and foot of had to be changed by twice.

In 1995, Astrid Benöhr there carries out the female world records of the quintuple ultra-triathlon and finishes third on 24 participants.
