Dutch Brazil

The Dutch Brazil , or News-Holland , was a portion of the Brazilian Nordeste under control of the Compagnie Dutchwoman of the Western Indies during a trentatine of years at the XVIIe century. Starting from 1624, the Dutchmen benefit from the weakening of the colonial Empire Portuguese during the annexation of the Portugal by the Spain (1560-1640), and establish a colony on the septentrional coast of Brazil, between Sergipe and Maranhão, having for capital Pernambouc (today Recife). In 1654, the Dutchmen are expelled by the Portuguese.
