Duron
Duron is a Microprocesseur which was produced by the company AMD.
Duron is the line entry equivalent of the Athlon of AMD. In comparison with Intel, it is in Athlon what the Celeron is with the Pentium. Duron uses same architecture as his/her big brother, Athlon, with the difference that to lower the production costs, AMD decreases the size of the mask of level 2. The central bus also will be restricted to 100 MHz (200 GDR) instead of the 133,166 or 200 MHz for Athlons. This processor will be sold less expensive than its Athlon equivalent, with slightly lower performances. Just like Athlon, it is compatible Socket A.
