Dupre , Jeweller French, born around Grenoble towards 1715, died in 1772.

He discovered by chance new a Greek fire, and communicated his discovery with Louis XV (1759). The effects were so terrible that, by humanity, the prince preferred to bury this secrecy in the lapse of memory, and bought the silence of Dupre by giving him a pension of 2000 pounds.
