Dungun
Dungun is a coastal District of the State of the Terengganu in Malaysia. Kuala Dungun is the capital of the district.
The town of Kuala Dungun was in the beginning a site of expolitation of the ore of Fer in the Forties. Iron was in fact extracted in a small town the island called Bukit Besi in the west, whereas Kuala Dungun was a port used to export it. Kuala Dungun and Bukit Besi were connected by a way of railroad used by industry of iron but also for the transport of people towards Dungun and its companies.
This golden age finishes at the end of the Seventies. When the mines were closed, the railway company gave up the area. Bukit Besi is now a Plantation of State financed by the government, the residences of Felda Estate and the Palmeraie S.
