Dunciade
Dunciade or war of stupid the ( The Dunciad in English) is famous a satirical Poème writes by the author English Alexander Pope at the beginning of the 18th century. Work knew three distinct editions at different times. The first version (the Dunciade “of three books”) saw the day in 1728. The second, in which Pope recognizes the paternity of the text, bears the name of Dunciad Variorum (“Variations on Dunciade”) and appeared in 1735. As for the New Dunciade ( New Dunciad ), organized in four books and introducing a different hero, it was published in 1743.
The poem celebrates the Déesse Dulness (“French silly thing”) and described the labor of its agents, which get busy to spread the decline, the imbecillity and the absence of taste through the kingdom of Great Britain.
