Dumb

Enfoiré is a term abusive Performatif derived from the verb “enfoirer”, synonymous with “emmerder”. It lost this direction and takes those of “good to nothing”, “imbecile” or “anybody malfaisante”.

History

The verb “enfoirer” in the direction “to soil” is attested in 1587, the participle appears at the beginning of the 20th century and enters the Robert in 1905 with the meaning of “soiled excrements”. It lost this direction to take that vaguer of “imbecile” or “good to nothing”

Étymon

It is about a derivative of “fair” (Diarrhée) attested in Vieux French in the forms “feire” and “fair”. The Latin étymon of the same direction is foria .
