Dukhovshina
Dukhovshina (Russian: Духовщина) is a city of the Oblast de Smolensk in Russia, located on the river Vostitsa at 57 km at the North-East of Smolensk. The city counted a population of 4.683 inhabitants, in 2002, and one estimates it for 2005 at 4.500. It is the administrative center of the District Dukhovshchinsky.
The city grows around the monastery of Dukhov, built at the 13th century, and acquired the statute of city in 1777.
