Duke of Leinster
The title of duke of Leinster is the first of the titles of the Pairie of Ireland. Created in 1766, it is carried in the FitzGerald family, of origin Norman. The current duke of Leinster, Gerald FitzGerald, eighth carrier of the title, carries the titles of Marquis de Kildare (created in 1761), Count de Kildare (1316), Count d' Offaly (1747), Vicomte Leinster off Taplow (1747), Baron Offaly (1620) and Baron Kildare (1870).
