The first erection: 1608

The title of duke of Fronsac was initially created in 1608 for Orleans-Longueville, connects bastard of Valois. It is extinct in this line as of 1631.

1608-1622 : Leonor of Orleans-Longueville (1605-1622), duke of Fronsac, Count of Saint-pol.. Wire of the following, died without posterity.
1622-1631: François of Orleans-Longueville (1570-1631), Count of Saint-pol., duke of Fronsac (1608) and Castle-Thierry, father of the precedent and wire of Leonor (1540-1573), duke of Estouteville, Duke of Longueville and Marie d' Estouteville (1539-1601). He marries Anne de Caumont (1574-1642), marchioness of Fronsac.

The second erection: 1634

In 1634, the title of duke of Fronsac is created one second time at the profit of the cardinal of Richelieu, already created Duc of Richelieu.
